The Independent National Electoral Commission has reported a massive response to its Continuous Voter Registration exercise, with over 26,000 online portal hits within hours of launch – www.naijnaira.com reports.

According to Vanguard, the digital pre-registration began on August 18, 2025, through cvr.inecnigeria.org, giving eligible citizens a chance to start the process from their devices before finalizing at designated centres.

INEC confirmed that physical registration across the 37 state offices and 774 local government areas will begin on August 25, 2025.

The initiative is open to Nigerians turning 18, while current voters can also transfer or collect Permanent Voter Cards, replace damaged ones, or update their details.

“Voter registration remains a vital step toward credible elections,” the Commission emphasized, while urging citizens to avoid multiple registrations.

For assistance, the Commission provided short code 4632, three hotline numbers – 09050858629, 09050858675, 09050858649 – and an official email address: iccc@inec.gov.ng.
