INEC Prohibits Use of Mobile Phones on Election Day

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has prohibited voters from using their mobile phones when casting their votes during the upcoming presidential election.

This includes making phone calls and taking photos with the devices.

The Ogun State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Niyi Ijalaye, noted that this is a criminal offence and is necessary to prevent vote buying.

Moreover, both the police commissioner, Frank Mb, and Ijalaye have urged security personnel to remain politically neutral and to create an equal playing field for all parties involved in the election.

They also encouraged citizens of Ogun State to come out and exercise their civic responsibility of voting peacefully on Saturday.
