Infinix Note 5 got a flagship launch event at Armani Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirate. infinix note 5

Note 5 become the first mid-range phone from infinix mobile to be launched in Dubai.

The Transsion Holding subsidiary partnered with Google to launch the device on the Android One Project.

What that means is, its users will get three (3) Android OS upgrade, constant security patches and awesome features that comes with it like Google Lens.

However, if you are a die hard fan of XOS (Infinix custom UI), sorry but you won’t be getting that on the Note 5. What you get is the pure android experience like what you see on the Google Pixel phones.

Many smartphone manufacturers like Nokia and Xiaomi have also partnered with Google to launch Android One smartphones in the past.

So without further ado, let’s get to the business of the day.

Infinix Note 5 Specs & Review.

This device doesn’t come with anything new like some kind of tech breakthrough. Its specs are something we have seen on some couple of phones from other manufacturers.

Just that it is coming from infinix and at an affordable price and readily available (both online and offline).

However, it is sure a worthy upgrade to its predecessor has it feature latest design, little bit better display, upgraded camera, more powerful processor and latest Android OS.

Design & Display.

Note 5 from infinix like it predecessor features a shinning plastic back with 2.5D glass finishing at the front.

Unlike the infinix Note 4 (Pro) with 16:9 aspect ratio, the note 5 features the trending 18:9 infinity display incorporating more screen into smaller body and replacing the navigation buttons with onscreen buttons.

There is nothing at top and left side of the device. The bottom on the other hand housed the 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker, micro-USB port and microphone. infinix note 5 bottom

At the right hand side are the power button, volume button and sim and sd card tray slot.

Above the display are the selfie camera, flash light, notification light and earpiece.

Turning to the back of the device, you will immediately notice the relocation of the rear camera to the top left corner while the fingerprint scanner retains its traditional position.

You will also notice the usual AndroidOne imprint at the bottom.

Display wise, the device is a 6.0-inch IPS LCD smartphone with Full HD screen resolutions (1080 x 2160 pixels to be precise) with 403 PPI pixel density and brightness of 500 nits.

Aesthetically, the device sports a 2.5D glass on top its screen radiating beauty on its display.

Operating System, Processor & Memory.

Like i said earlier, the device was launched on Android One project. You can educate yourself about androidone.

Note 5 infinix runs on pure Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and been an AndroidOne device, it will get Android P immediately it is available.

XOS UI fans might be disappointed with this at first but with time you will understand the pleasure of using pure Android OS.

Xiaomi Mi A1, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus users can relate.

It is powered by an Octa Core Mediatek Helio P23 processor with clock speed at 2.0 GHz. The processing power is supported by Mali-G71 GPU and 3GB/4GB RAM.

It comes in two (2) variants with difference in memory configuration. There is a variant with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and another with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

There is a dedicated sdcard space that can support up to 128GB.

You will experience nothing short of fast and smooth multi-tasking performance on this device.

Battery, Camera & Connectivity.

Infinix X604 is packed with an AI managed 4500 mAh battery capacity that infinix said can last you up to 3 days of fair usage.

According to the manufacturer, the battery can last up to 1300 hrs on standby, 152 hrs while playing music, 38 hrs of talk time, 16 hrs of watching video, 12 hrs of browsing and 10 hrs if used for gaming.

      1. Update your Infinix Note 5 to get radio.

  3. Hi, well, my name is Mayowa, and i’m from Nigeria. The Infinix note 5 is a gaming mobile, in short, for people who care about crisp graphics and smooth game-play with no glitches or lags, the infinix note 5 is a sure bet, i have played asphalt 8 airborne on it and it was so good, i mean really good. Well, what is the trade-off? Mid-range camera resolution, 12MP on the rear and 15MP in front, not bad, still good for people that love selfies, if you’re aiming for selfie phones, but the best thing about note 5 is its Ultra HD resolution which delivers a super-high end video and gaming experience, and high-end processors for heavy games and heavy tasks, backed by a long-lasting battery. I mean, this phone opens desktop sites and even runs the ads on these sites like it’s a piece of cake. Infinix note 5 is the best gaming mobile i have ever used so far.
