Wataru Endo, the captain of Stuttgart and a midfielder for the team, has been given permission to travel to Liverpool for transfer discussions and a medical examination.
According to Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness, Liverpool has made a “good” financial offer for the 30-year-old player, whose contract is set to expire in 10 months.
Hoeness stated that Endo’s move to Liverpool is his “dream” and that he has not attempted to change his mind.
Endo has already travelled to England and was absent from training on Thursday.
He is also not expected to be included in Stuttgart’s squad for their upcoming game on Saturday.
Endo, who can play as a defensive midfielder or in the centre of defence, has been with Stuttgart since 2020 and scored five goals in 33 Bundesliga games last season.
