A group of Bola Tinubu’s supporters, called the Disciples of Justice, have warned lobbyists seeking political positions to stop disturbing the president-elect.

The group stated that politicians should allow the president-elect to make the right choices in selecting competent personnel to deliver on their campaign promises.

While lobbying is an accepted practice in a democracy, the group emphasized that intense lobbying could lead to favouritism and eye service from the appointees.

The group’s National Coordinator, Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, urged politicians to prioritize national interest over personal interest.

Alawuje also referenced the 2015 incident when President Muhammadu Buhari came to office for his first term.

He noted that intense lobbying led to in-fighting within the All Progressives Congress (APC), which resulted in a lack of concentration on solving Nigeria’s problems and meeting the needs of Nigerians.

Therefore, the Disciples of Justice called on politicians to avoid a repeat of the 2015 incident and allow the president-elect and the vice president-elect to compose a team of competent personnel to fulfill their campaign promises.

It is essential to prioritize national interest above personal interests for the benefit of the country and its citizens.
