Onuachu

Dimitri De Conde, Chief of Genk Football Club, admitted his sadness seeing key forward Paul Onuachu leave the team on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international’s move to Southampton earned the club EUR 21 million and he will be missed- scoring a total of 84 goals in 134 matches for the Cegeka Arena.

He also claimed the record for most goals scored in one season in Belgium after netting 33 times in 38 games during the 2020/21 season.

De Conde told HLN, “We could not stop him from making his dream come true. We are aware of the loss he leaves behind, but we were ready for his possible departure”.
