After leading Italy to victory at the European Championship in 2021, Roberto Mancini has decided to step down as head coach of the national team.

Mancini took over the team in 2018 after their failure to qualify for the World Cup, and he successfully guided them to glory at the Euros.

However, Italy once again failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, and despite their third-place finish at the Nations League finals, Mancini has chosen to resign.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) will now begin the search for a new national coach to lead the team in the upcoming Uefa Euro 2024 qualifiers.
