Jennifer Lawrence recently shared how parenthood has transformed her creative process, revealing that becoming a mother has “changed her creatively.”
Speaking at the Cannes press conference for Die, My Love, Lawrence discussed how raising children has heightened her emotional awareness, which she channels into her performances. “Not only do they go into every decision of if I’m working, where, when – I didn’t know that I could feel so much,” Lawrence said. “They’ve opened up the world to me. It’s almost like feeling like a blister, so sensitive.”
According to Ben Dalton, a report on May 18, 2025, Pattinson, who stars alongside Lawrence in Die, My Love, shared his own perspective on the creative energy parenthood provides. “Having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration,” he said. Lawrence, with a touch of humor, replied, “You get energy?!” Pattinson added that parenthood had revitalized the way he approaches his work, remarking that becoming a parent makes you a “completely different person the next day.”
Die, My Love features Lawrence as a woman battling psychosis in a rural setting, while Pattinson plays her husband. The cast also includes LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte.
Lawrence revealed that one of the hardest days on set was filming a nude scene on her first day, a challenge that involved pushing her boundaries and working closely with director Lynne Ramsay.
Ramsay, known for her daring directorial style, teased plans for another project with Spacek, possibly casting the actress as a serial killer in her next film. Die, My Love marks Ramsay’s fourth time in the Cannes competition, following her previous entries such as We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) and You Were Never Really Here (2017).
