The Air Force has announced a new color scheme for Air Force One, replacing the one chosen by former President Donald Trump.
Under the Biden administration, the plane will feature a slightly “deeper” version of its current “robin’s egg” blue and engines in a darker blue– similar to what was used during President John F. Kennedy’s time.
This is opposed to Trump’s deep red stripe with dark blue underbelly instead.
Apparently, his red-white-blue design could delay production due to creating more heat than the previous model.
In addition, instead of being in polished metal alloy, the belly now won’t be as shiny.
These upgrades are part of replacing the current VC-25A fleet and include electrical power improvements and a self-defense system.
However, this modernization is three years behind schedule with Boeing now projected to deliver two 747-8 aircraft in 2027 and 2028 for whoever heads into the office in 2024.
