US President Joe Biden, along with former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, praised Turner’s remarkable personal strength and her impact on American music.

Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama described Turner as “raw, powerful and unstoppable,” while Vice President Kamala Harris called her a “spectacular light” and “simply the best.”

Clinton recalled meeting Turner twice and praised her talent, style, energy, and authenticity.

Former Vice President Al Gore also praised Turner’s perseverance and show-stopping talent.

In 2005, former President George W Bush famously described Turner’s legs as “the most famous in showbusiness.”
