Former Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, has finally broken his silence about his future plans after his contract with the Nigerian national team expired following the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Peseiro, a Portuguese coach, led the Super Eagles to a commendable second-place finish in the tournament held in Cote d’Ivoire.

Since then, Peseiro has been linked with several coaching positions, particularly the vacant positions in Algeria and Tunisia. However, the 63-year-old has revealed that, for now, he is solely focused on taking a break from coaching. “I have received up to seven offers,” Peseiro disclosed.

“But I have told everyone to come back at the end of the month. What is certain is that I want to continue coaching and I need to choose wisely.”

Peseiro remains open to all possibilities and has received numerous contacts from both national teams and clubs. “I would say 5, 6 or 7,” he revealed, without disclosing their identities.

“I have let them all know that I need to rest and that when my contract expires, I will talk about it and start thinking about other projects to decide my future. For now, I need to take a break and be calm.”

With his track record and success with the Super Eagles, it is evident that Peseiro’s expertise is highly sought after. Only time will tell which team or club will secure his services and shape his coaching future.
