Kaduna State Government has lifted the 12-hour curfew imposed on Sabon Garin Nasarawa-Tirkaniya in Chikun Local Government Area of the state since last Monday.

The decision was made following the clash between local hunters and gangsters of the area which led to the death of two citizens.

The government had initially imposed a 24-hour curfew but later relaxed it to 12 hours, which was to be enforced from 7 pm to 7 am daily.

However, the curfew has now been lifted, and residents are free to go about their normal daily activities.

In a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the government assured residents that security personnel would continue to patrol the area to maintain peace and security.

“The military and police will continue to carry out patrols in the locations, as residents of the area may now go about their lawful activities,” the statement read.

The government also advised residents to avoid any activities that could lead to the disruption of public peace, as anyone found wanting would be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The lifting of the curfew has been welcomed by the residents of Sabon Garin Nasarawa-Tirkaniya, who had been affected by the restriction of movement.

The curfew had caused hardship for many, as people were unable to carry out their daily activities, including going to work and attending school.

The residents expressed their gratitude to the government for lifting the curfew, and they also urged security agencies to intensify their efforts in ensuring that the area remains safe and secure.
