The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has concluded its case against the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Kano State Election Petition Tribunal without calling any witnesses.
The petitioner, APC, is challenging the declaration of Abba Yusuf of the NNPP as the winner of the governorship election.
The NNPP’s counsel informed the tribunal that they will not present any witnesses, as they believe the evidence presented by the petitioner and the sole witness of the second respondent is sufficient.
The counsel for INEC and Yusuf did not object, and the counsel for the petitioner also did not object.
The tribunal commended all parties for their conduct and cooperation during the trial and ordered them to file their written addresses by August 15.
The matter has been adjourned until August 21 for the adoption of final written addresses.
The petitioner is also seeking a declaration that the NNPP has no candidate as Yusuf was not in their register of voters submitted to INEC at the time of the election.
