Abdulrahman Gambo, a bodyguard to Kano state governor-elect Abba Kabir Yusuf, passed away in a tragic road accident along the Kano-Bichi federal highway on Saturday.
The incident, which occurred while the top bodyguards were returning from a private wedding at Bichi, claimed the life of Gambo and left his colleague, Cena, injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the car carrying the bodyguards skidded off the highway and overturned several times, leading to the fatal accident.
Cena is currently receiving treatment at an unnamed health facility in Kano State.
Abdulrahman Gambo was buried in Kano in accordance with Shariah law.
The governor-elect expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his security team member, describing him as a passionate and loyal member of his team.
He further prayed to Allah to grant him eternal rest and forgive his shortcomings.
