According to reports, six Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players have expressed their concerns to club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi regarding Kylian Mbappe’s recent comments.
Mbappe’s interviews have raised doubts about his future with the club, as he mentioned hitting a ‘glass ceiling’ and stated that playing for PSG “does not help” his ambitions to win the Ballon d’Or.
Two of the players who complained are said to be new signings at the club.
As Mbappe is unwilling to sign a new contract, Al-Khelaifi has given him an ultimatum to either commit his future to the club or leave this summer.
Al-Khelaifi stated that if Mbappe doesn’t sign a new contract, PSG will sell him.
With only one year left on his contract, PSG wants to avoid losing Mbappe on a free transfer and is looking to receive a fee for him.
Real Madrid is reportedly the only option for Mbappe this summer, as he is refusing to sign a new deal.
However, Real Madrid is waiting for either Mbappe or PSG to make the first move.
Any potential deal is expected to cost over €200m (£170m), including a fee, add-ons, and commission.
PSG would also need to pay Mbappe a €70m (£60m) loyalty bonus if he sees out his current contract.
While Mbappe has never promised not to leave as a free agent, he reportedly prefers the club to receive a fee that can be reinvested in a replacement.
