The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has denied rumors circulating on social media that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu directed the agency to stop arresting motorists who violate traffic laws.

LASTMA General Manager Bolaji Oreagba issued a statement through the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, urging residents to ignore the fake news.

Oreagba explained that LASTMA’s duty is to manage traffic, not to arrest motorists, and warned against fake online reports aimed at causing chaos and mischief.

He emphasized that the agency is regulated by laws and equipped with modern technological innovations to address traffic challenges.
