Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu rewarded the best-graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU) with a generous sum of N10 million on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The recipient, Ojo Nwosu Isioma, graduated with a first-class degree in Biochemistry and achieved an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.93.
According to Jane Ibe’s April 11, 2025, report during the convocation ceremony, the governor’s deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, expressed the state’s commitment to providing quality education for future generations. Hamzat highlighted how Nwosu’s outstanding achievement brings pride to LASU and the entire Lagos State community.
The governor further emphasized that education plays a critical role in society’s growth. “Education is the backbone of our society, and we must recognise its importance in addressing societal needs and human development,” he stated.
Additionally, Sanwo-Olu assured that the state government is collaborating with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide the necessary financial support for students to excel. This initiative is part of their efforts to help students achieve academic success and contribute to innovative solutions in society.
