UEFA have received a formal request to block a possible takeover of Manchester United by Qatari investors.

Bid submissions are open until Friday with the Glazer family seeking an estimated £5billion sale fee.

Four “serious” offers to buy the club have already been made, one of which is from British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

American investors, who recently tried and failed to buy Chelsea, are also expected to make a bid for United.

Longtime admirers from Saudi Arabia could be potential private owners too.

However, Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has reportedly expressed his interest in buying The Red Devils and is forecasted to bring wealth up to £359billion into the club that would no doubt blow everyone else out of the water.

Despite this, human rights activists including FairSquare research and advocacy group have raised concerns about Qatar’s poor human rights record and apparent ownership of two European giants — PSG.

According to UEFA regulations, it is not permitted for “one individual or legal entity” to have control over more than one team participating in their competitions.

In light of these concerns, they have called on UEFA to obstruct the Qatar proposal amidst fears it will breach competitive sport protocol.
