Lionel Messi, the renowned Argentine footballer, chose to gift his national team members and staff with a unique present to celebrate their recent victory.
Rather than the usual gift of watches, he opted for something more personal – 35 custom 24K gold iPhone 14 Pro smartphones from iDesign Gold.
Each handset was engraved with the player’s name and number, as well as the Argentina national football team logo.
While not as expensive as Caviar’s iPhone 14 Pro Daytona, this generous gesture cost Messi over $210,000 USD.
The custom iPhones did not alter any factory specs and included features such as a 6.1-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED screen, triple rear camera array (48MP Wide + 12MP Telephoto + 12MP Ultra-Wide), and a 3,200mAh battery.
According to Ben Lyons, CEO of iDesign Gold and a loyal customer of Messi’s:
“He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches. So I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names, and he loved the idea.”
There is no word yet on whether iDesign Gold will be offering similar units to the public.
