Salah scored twice to lead Liverpool to a 3-2 win over Southampton, taking them eight points clear at the top of the Premier League after Manchester City’s 4-0 loss to Tottenham.
Liverpool took the lead in the 30th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai seized on Southampton’s mistake in playing out from the back, curling a superb shot into the top corner.
However, Southampton equalized just before halftime.

Liverpool responded in the 65th minute when Salah capitalized on a misjudgment by Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
McCarthy failed to intercept a long ball, and Salah pounced to tap the ball into an empty net to level the score at 2-2.
With just seven minutes remaining, Salah won the game for Liverpool, converting a penalty after Southampton’s Yuki Sugawara handled the ball in the box.
The victory extended Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table, while Southampton’s performance left them still searching for consistency.
