Manchester City secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday, marking Pep Guardiola’s 500th match in charge.

The win helped City end 2024 on a positive note after a challenging few months.

The first half was a fast-paced, end-to-end encounter, with both teams missing several good chances.

However, it was Manchester City who took the lead, with Savinho netting his first goal for the club.

This marked their first back-to-back Premier League victories since September.

Despite a strong performance from Leicester, who had their fair share of opportunities, they found themselves behind at halftime.

In the second half, Leicester dominated possession and created the better chances, but it was City who extended their lead.

Erling Haaland scored with 15 minutes left to seal the victory for the visitors.

The result left Leicester in 18th place, still in the relegation zone with just 14 points from 19 matches.

For Manchester City, the win took them to 31 points, moving up to fifth in the table.

This victory also ended their eight-match winless streak away from home, dating back to October.
