Manchester United have released photos of Marcel Sabitzer posing in their iconic jersey after the Austrian international completed a deadline-day loan switch from Bayern Munich.
Upon his arrival, United chose Jersey number 15 for him to wear – familiar to many fans as it was previously held by Andreas Pereira before he made his move to Fulham.
The images came out on the same day that Sabitzer was present at Old Trafford and watched his new team-mates take on Nottingham Forest in their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, with a 2-0 win booking them into the finals.
Ahead of possibly making his debut against Crystal Palace this Saturday in the Premier League, manager Erik ten Hag has expressed great optimism towards adding Sabitzer’s experience and energy to the squad while the player himself mentioned an important decision made to join Manchester United following struggles at Bayern.
At 28 years old, Sabitzer is expected to bring plenty of success having featured 54 times for Bayern since 2021, scoring twice and providing one assist during his stay as well as appearing 229 times for RB Leipzig between 2014 and 2021 where he netted 52 goals prior to joining Bayern at a price tag of £14m.
Now donned in Red Devils colours, time will tell if Marcel Sabitzer can make an immediate impact for Manchester United.
