Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has suffered a groin injury, causing concern for the team.
However, with Anthony Martial now fully fit and in form, he is ready to step up in Rashford’s expected absence.
Martial has been a divisive figure, but when he’s been able to play this season, he’s been successful, with seven goals and two assists in just 7999 minutes of action.
This means he registers a goal or assist every 88 minutes.
With Rashford potentially out for a number of weeks, Martial could be the perfect replacement.
If he ends the season in fine form, it could also cause positive issues for United’s summer transfer plans.
The team wants a new No 9 with Tottenham and Napoli strikers Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen both on their radar, but Martial’s success could prompt a rethink.
Regarding Rashford’s injury, manager Erik ten Hag admitted things “didn’t look good” after the team’s victory over Everton.
United’s next match is against Sevilla on Thursday.
