Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, have officially signed Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea on a permanent three-year deal.
The Croatia international was acquired for a fee of £25 million, which could potentially rise to £30 million with add-ons.
Kovacic, who previously played for Real Madrid, joined Chelsea in 2018 on a loan spell before the move was made permanent a year later.
During his time with the Blues, he won several major titles, including the Champions League and Europa League.
Kovacic expressed his excitement about joining Manchester City, calling them the “best in the world” and expressing his eagerness to learn Pep Guardiola’s style of football.
