Manchester City Football Club has recently submitted a planning application to expand the capacity of the Etihad Stadium to over 60,000 seats.

City’s expansion plans include a new hotel, museum, and other facilities. The north stand will be expanded with a larger, single upper tier, adding around 7,000 new seats to the stadium.

The expansion of the Etihad Stadium will also include a new covered fan zone, a new club shop, and a 400-bed hotel.

City estimates that the plans will take up to three years to complete as part of a £300 million investment plan in east Manchester.

Danny Wilson, the managing director of operations, expressed his gratitude to the fans and local community for their participation in the consultation process, and emphasized the club’s commitment to ensuring that the local community benefits from the development.

The Etihad Stadium was recently included on the list of 10 stadia that would host matches if the UK and Ireland’s joint bid for organizing Euro 2028 is successful.
