Marcus Rashford was left aggrieved after being taken off by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag during their FA Cup fourth round tie with Reading.
With a goal early in the second-half, Rashford was aiming to extend his record of netting in ten consecutive Old Trafford matches but unfortunately had his effort ruled out by VAR.
Harry Maguire suggested that the striker would have been unhappy at being replaced, though he agreed it was a wise decision from Ten Hag.
The United boss came out to explain that taking Rashford off was for the great good of his team, as he needed to keep him fit for upcoming games, adding “we need Marcus”.
Rashford’s form this season has been excellent and he has 18 goals in all competitions so far.
Despite not getting his record against Reading, he will have plenty of opportunities in the upcoming weeks with Man Utd playing two home games against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.
