Manchester United have long been vying for the signature of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, and Marcus Rashford’s verdict on the 19-year-old could just be the tipping point in their favour.
United are keen to bolster their central midfield this summer, and they have refused to give up on their pursuit of Bellingham.
The England international is one of the most sought after prospects in the world at present, with a number of big European clubs looking to secure his services.
Last month, Manchester Evening News reported that United had refused to rule out a return move for the player, who visited Carrington back in March 2020 with his family shortly before opting for Dortmund as his next step.
Rashford has also been publically effusive when it comes to Bellingham’s talent, praising him following England’s 3-0 win over Wales at last year’s World Cup.
The 24-year-old suggested that two or three years down the line there would be no debate over who was the best midfielder in the world, such is Bellingham’s potential.
With so many glowing reviews coming from all directions and United remaining determined to sign him, it looks like now might be their chance to make a decisive move.
If Manchester United go all out for him – and successfully pull him off – they should have no problem justifying their efforts based on Rashford’s verdict alone.
