Sir Jim Ratcliffe, chief of INEOS, has declared that he will not pay an “unreasonable price” to obtains Man Utd from the Glazer family.

Invited to Old Trafford last week, Ratcliffe opted to make his appearance a day after Qatar-based Sheikh Jassim.

The Glazers have constantly stuck with their asking price of £6bn and it’s anticipated a deal can be concluded this summer if they receive an appropriate offer.

Ratcliffe stated in a recent interview that he did not wish to “regret” paying an “stupid price” for Man Utd.

Additionally, he asserted that the takeover attempt varies from his other investments as “sport is emotional”.

Kaveh Solhekol commented on how the setup of these meetings may suggest that the Glazers are serious about selling since Ratcliffe was happy for himself and Richard Arnold to be photographed together upon arrival at Old Trafford.

There was also a high-powered delegation from INEOS, which included Andy Currie and John Reece, as well as Sir Dave Brailsford, who used to be director of cycling at Team Sky and is now INEOS’ director of sport.
