A wave of defections has hit the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto as several members from Gada Local Government joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) – www.naijnaira.com reports.

According to ThisDay, the defectors were received on Sunday by Senator Abubakar Gada, who said the movement was driven by loss of faith in the ruling government.

He lamented that worsening insecurity and economic hardship have destroyed farming in Sokoto East, leaving many households in hunger and unemployment.

“Our people are battling serious security threats that have destroyed farming, our main source of income,” Gada said, describing ADC as the only hope left.

The former senator added that Nigerians are joining ADC because they want a party capable of rescuing the country from crisis.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also confirmed he will run in the 2027 presidential election under the ADC coalition.

Through his aide Tunde Olusunle, Atiku criticized what he called “unprecedented thievery” in the Bola Tinubu administration, pledging to rebuild Nigeria’s values and economy.

He insisted the ADC coalition would shock many in 2027, positioning itself as a credible alternative for millions of frustrated citizens.
