Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is expected to leave four players out of his matchday squad to face West Ham United on Boxing Day.
Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson are both ruled out after suffering injuries during the World Cup and the recent Juventus friendly.
While Emile Smith Rowe is “close” to being available, it could come too soon for him so he may also miss out.
The other three players in contention for exclusion from the squad are Albert Sambi Lokonga, Karl Hein and Takehiro Tomiyasu – all of whom were left out against Wolves before the season break.
Oleksandr Zinchenko should be available for selection, as should Kieran Tierney who was rested against Luton Town last week.
If Smith Rowe misses out then Tomiyasu and Sambi Lokonga – who cost Arsenal a combined total of £33.2m – could be recalled to the matchday squad against West Ham, with reports revealing it was a foot problem that kept Smith Rowe from playing in their game against Juventus.
