As speculation mounts over his future, Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo has broken his silence on the many rumored transfer links to the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
The 21-year-old’s performances have certainly attracted attention from across Europe, having represented Ecuador at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Despite reports of a £55 million bid being turned down by Brighton earlier this month, Caicedo has indicated that he would rather focus on performing well for the Seagulls first.
He stated: “I am focused on Brighton. Things from outside don’t trouble me… I only try to be focused on the club where I am now”.
With an apparent price tag of £75 million though, it seems unlikely that Jurgen Klopp will make a move for the dynamic midfielder in this January window – particularly with Chelsea more than likely to submit an improved bid for the Ecuadorian.
However, a possible reunion with former boss Graham Potter may prove tempting enough for him to join the Blues instead.
