After weeks of online silence, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, finally addressed public curiosity with a cryptic post, NaijNaira can report. His message came just days after Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, approached the Lagos High Court to challenge the legal advice that cleared Naira Marley and Sam Larry in connection to the late singer’s death.
As reported by The Punch, Joseph Aloba filed a petition seeking to reopen the case, arguing that justice wasn’t properly served. The court has now fixed July 2, 2025, to make a ruling on the matter.
In response to the renewed legal drama, Naira Marley took to Twitter and shared a piece of advice that struck many as tone-deaf. “Bro to bro: You might die broke, just make sure you don’t suffer in this life and the afterlife,” he posted. This message sparked a flood of reactions online, with some accusing him of mockery and insensitivity.
“Bro to bro — Enter court, baba Moh dey find you,” a user @thefoodnetworknig2 commented, hinting at the legal heat surrounding the artist.
Another user, @queen_stone___, slammed the post saying, “You suffer Mohbad for this life!…coming from you is a bad advice.”
Despite the backlash, Marley has not made any further public statements. For now, all eyes remain on the court ruling set for July 2, which could change the direction of the ongoing fight for justice in Mohbad’s case.
