Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are both readying nine-figure bids for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, according to ESPN’s Insider Notebook.
The Nigerian international, who has scored 15 goals in 20 games in all competitions this season, is poised to cost both clubs more than €100m ($109m).
He’s certainly come into the picture following Erling Haaland, Darwin Nunez and Robert Lewandowski’s respective transfers last summer.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and FC Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko are among the other names on Manchester United’s summer agenda.
Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic is also a potential option if they are forced to sell him due to financial constraints.
Despite such competition, Osimhen remains a priority target for both clubs – with Napoli unwilling to settle for less than the huge financial fee proposed by United and PSG.
The 24-year-old joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 under a €70m transfer agreement and still has two seasons left on his contract.
On top of that Manchester United recently opted for a six-month loan deal for Burnley’s Wout Weghorst as opposed to an 18-month permanent deal as they look toward the midfield reinforcement Erik ten Hag wants this summer.
