Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reignited tension in Abuja with a blistering accusation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, declaring he treated her like a personal servant and ran the National Assembly with the arrogance of a dictator — www.naijnaira.com reports.
She returned to her office in Room 205 on Tuesday after security operatives and the Sergeant-at-Arms officially reopened it, ending a six-month lockout.
SaharaReporters confirmed the lawmaker immediately addressed journalists, lashing out at what she described as an “illegal and unjust” suspension engineered by Senate leadership.
“It’s very unfortunate that after so many years of democracy, the National Assembly would be run by such dictatorship,” Natasha stated firmly.
She recounted how her ordeal went beyond the walls of parliament, narrating how she survived blocked roads, political blackmail, and relentless attempts to silence her.
The senator thanked her supporters for standing strong, singling out her husband and children for their sacrifices.
“My husband, my love, I pray every man supports his wife the way you supported me,” she said with emotion.
Despite the suspension, she insisted she never stopped working, continuing to pursue projects and opportunities for her Kogi Central constituents.
Her return, coupled with a bold rejection of Akpabio’s leadership style, is already expected to deepen political hostilities within the Senate.
Akpoti-Uduaghan warned that no senator, including Akpabio, was more Nigerian than the other, stressing that “we can’t cower in the face of injustice.”
