Linda Yaccarino, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, expressed her excitement to help transform the social media platform in a tweet on Saturday.
Yaccarino, who previously served as advertising chief for Comcast Corp’s NBCUniversal, stated that she was inspired by owner Elon Musk’s vision to create a brighter future and is committed to Twitter’s future success.
She emphasized the importance of user feedback in building “Twitter 2.0.”
Musk, who has been serving as CEO since his buyout of Twitter last October, announced Yaccarino’s appointment on Friday.
While Musk has previously mentioned his plans for an “everything app,” Yaccarino’s selection as an advertising veteran suggests that digital ads will continue to be a core focus of the business.
Musk stated that Yaccarino’s appointment will allow him to devote more time to his role as CEO of Tesla Inc.
