Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has addressed speculation surrounding the potential signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar for the club’s next season, should they qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
While the club’s recent takeover by Saudi PIF has boosted their fortunes both on and off the pitch, Howe emphasized the importance of wise recruitment and developing young talent.
Despite rumors of Ronaldo’s frustration with his current club and Neymar’s potential exit from PSG, Howe stated that many of the linked names are inaccurate and that the club’s focus is on discovering and developing young talent.
“A lot of the names aren’t accurate. We need to recruit wisely,” he said, as quoted by Sportskeeda.
“We want to discover them before they explode onto the world stage. We need to go underneath, find them young and develop them. I know the direction.”
While Ronaldo has previous Premier League experience with Manchester United and both players have won multiple Champions League trophies, Howe’s vision for the club’s future involves building a strong foundation with young talent rather than relying on established stars.
