NFF issues FIFA badges to 29 referees, urge them to be upright

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has presented FIFA badges to 29 referees while urging them to exercise their duties with integrity and uprightness.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, represented by the NFF General Secretary Sanusi Mohammed, gave this charge at the 2023 FIFA badging ceremony at the Conference Hall of the Goal Project in Abuja on Wednesday.

Mr. Gusau emphasized that international referees from Nigeria should follow the regulations of integrity expected of them, as well as take advantage of the increased allowances and indemnities they are entitled to as a morale booster.

Also, match commissioners have been instructed to make sure that all referees are placed on speakers and recorded during matches.

The NFF President concluded by expressing his desire for Nigerian teams to no longer be eliminated in international competitions after the first round.

As assurances from the NRA Chairman Tade Azeez that security will be a top priority for the organization, Faith Irabor, Chairman of the NFF Referees’ Committee also reassured that lawmakers would continue to make sure officials do their job up to scratch.
