Nigerian actress Amandla Ebeye has discussed the reasons behind her move to change her first name from Amanda.
She wanted something that was more closely related to her African roots and thus chose a Xhosa and Zulu name with the meaning “power” in reference to Nelson Mandela’s fight against apartheid.
Although she may often be out of Nigeria, the actress still maintains that relocating abroad has not affected her career, as she is still able to pick and choose what she participates in.
Married life, too, is treating Ebeye well as she sails the new waves of being a wife and mother.
Her recent project series titled “30s, Single and Bored” is evidence of this as it showcases many months of editing prior to production.
