Victory Gbakara, a contestant in the eighth season of Nigerian Idol, has been announced as the winner of the show, receiving a grand prize of N100 million.
The announcement was made by the show’s host, Ikponmwosa Osakioduwa, during the grand finale held in Lagos.
Gbakara, a 25-year-old Nigerian lawyer, singer, and songwriter from Delta State, will also receive a cash prize of N35 million, a brand new SUV, a year’s supply of Bigi drinks, a week’s getaway holiday to Cape Town, a year’s supply of WAW detergent, and other prizes.
The winner was determined by the viewers, who voted to retain or evict contestants throughout the season.
Gbakara’s journey on the show began after five weeks of auditions and performances, where he was selected as one of the top 10 contestants.
