Governors Cannot Be Prosecuted For Comments About Naira Redesign Policy

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

The IGP, Usman Baba, has clarified why governors are immune to prosecution over alleged remarks pertaining to the report issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regarding naira redesign policy.

At a meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, Baba spoke with journalists and explained that while an investigation is underway, certain people are not accountable due to the immunities they possess.

Governors like Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state have expressed disapproval towards Buhari’s decision regarding the naira renovation policy, claiming that the old N500 and N1,000 notes remain valid until a definitive ruling is made in an ongoing case held at the Supreme Court.

Nonetheless, the IGP reassured that those individuals would be warned and advised prior to any further action being taken against them.
