Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, has advanced to the semifinals at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Amusan, who recently had her suspension cleared by a panel set up by World Athletics, easily qualified for the next round with a time of 12.48 seconds.
She is seeking to defend her world title and retain all five crowns she currently holds.
The United States has also provided a sports psychologist to work with Amusan and help her overcome the trauma of her suspension.
Former Ogun State Sports Commissioner, Bukola Olopade, is in Budapest to support Amusan and other Nigerian athletes, and he hopes to see Nigeria win a medal at the championships.
