Despite meeting with President Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has denied any plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike, along with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former Delta State Governor James Ibori, visited Tinubu to offer their support four days after his inauguration as president of Nigeria.
When asked by reporters if switching to the APC was discussed during the meeting, Wike stated that there were no plans or intentions to do so, and that their visit was simply to show support for the president.
He added that there was “no big deal” about their visit.
“No. No plans. Nothing like that in the offing.
“We are Nigerians and we have come to give the president support.
“That is what is required. There is no big deal about that.”
