President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recently inaugurated a presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms.
The committee’s main task is to review the current fiscal policies and tax laws in the country and make recommendations on how they can be improved to better serve the citizens.
During the inauguration ceremony, President Tinubu emphasized the need to promote prosperity rather than taxing poverty.
The committee will be chaired by Taiwo Oyedele, the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
This move is seen as part of President Tinubu’s administration’s efforts to bring about positive changes in the country’s tax system.
