NPFL New Season Start Date Pushed Back Again

The start date for the 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League season has been delayed once again.

Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL board, announced the postponement in a letter to Newsmen.

The season was originally set to begin on August 26 but was later pushed back to September 9.

Owumi stated that the new kick-off date will be announced at a later time.

The opening fixture between Shooting Stars and Plateau United, which was supposed to take place this weekend, will be rescheduled.

Enyimba currently holds the title of NPFL champion.
