Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State praised All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his courage, character and consistency in standing with his beliefs.
During their visit to the Government House of Port Harcourt, Wike noted that these qualities were necessary for a leader in Nigeria and advised Tinubu to not pour any more funds into Tonye Coleโs gubernatorial bid.
He also compared Tinubuโs policies which brought praise when he was the governor of Lagos to his own policies as Rivers governor.
Wike additionally called out Atiku Abubakar for not following through on an agreement that would have allowed the PDP chairmanship to go to the South if he won the party ticket.
Tinubu commended Wike for advocating a power shift to the South rather than divisiveness and remarked on how impressive Wikeโs character is.
He expressed admiration for Wikeโs commitment to lawfulness stating that it was part of the reason they decided to pay him a courtesy visit while campaigning in Port Harcourt.
