The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has denied reports that it forced a Muslim corps member to shave his beard or face eviction from camp.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the NYSC described the report as misleading and baseless, adding that it has a code of conduct that all corps members must comply with.
The NYSC also clarified that no corps member, whether Muslim or Christian, has been evicted from any of its orientation camps across the country during the ongoing 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream Two Orientation Course.
The NYSC warned that it will take legal action against the person responsible for spreading the false story.
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has also confirmed that the story is false and appreciated the NYSC for its non-discriminatory approach to mentoring Nigerian youths.
