Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, the apex socio-cultural organization of the Igbo people, has strongly condemned the suspension of Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The group has called for the immediate reversal of the decision, which it describes as ethnic cleansing and a deliberate attempt to alienate the Igbos from public offices.
Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against actions that could further destabilize the already fragile nation and has urged him to rescind the decision and allow Emefiele to complete his term as the governor of the apex bank.
The group has also criticized the suspension for not following due process and for being part of the current administration’s efforts to target the Igbos.
