Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, has emerged victorious in a legal battle over the administration of her late husband’s estate.
The Lagos High Court, sitting in Ikeja, ruled in favor of Bianca and her two children in the long-standing litigation over the management and control of assets belonging to Ojukwu Transport Ltd (OTL).
The late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, a director of OTL, passed away in 2011.
The lawsuit, filed by Bianca on behalf of her two sons, alleged that the defendants, who are brothers of her late husband, were attempting to take possession of their residence and other properties.
The court ruled that the claimants, as the biological children of the late Ojukwu, are entitled to their father’s estate and his entitlements as a deceased director and shareholder of OTL.
The judge emphasized the importance of equity and fairness, stating that the claimants should be allowed to possess and control what their late father possessed and controlled in the company.
The court also declared that the claimants are entitled to the possession of several properties that were under the control of their late father.
The defendants were restrained from interfering with the claimants’ possession and control of these properties.
