Former Super Eagles players are urging Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli this summer after helping the team win their first Serie A title in 33 years.
Osimhen has been in outstanding form, scoring 27 goals for the Italian side, which has led to interest from top clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain, and Bayern Munich.
Former Eagles captain, Austin Okocha, believes that playing in the Premier League should be part of Osimhen’s dream, as it is a league that improves players.
Okocha suggests that Manchester United, Arsenal, or Manchester City could be ideal for him.
He also believes that Osimhen is underrated and is in the same bracket as Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane.
“The statistics don’t lie. For me, Osimhen is in the same bracket with (Kylian) Mbappe, Haaland and Harry Kane. For me, he is a bit underrated.”
“He is worth over a £100m at the moment.
“Strikers like him are very few in the market. If you think of how much players that have made lesser impacts are going for, a (Jack) Grealish can go for £100m. I think he deserves more.”
Jonathan Akpoborie, who won 13 caps for Nigeria, shares the same view and believes that if Osimhen wants to become a world-class striker, he should leave Italy for England or Spain.
However, Napoli is not a club that is willing to sell easily, and Osimhen’s price tag is expected to be over €100m.
