Galatasaray and Napoli are still locked in tense talks over Victor Osimhen’s potential permanent move to Istanbul, NaijNaira can report.

Despite Osimhen agreeing to personal terms, the financial structure of his €75 million (N133 billion) release clause is delaying the final agreement.

According to habersarikirmizi.com, Napoli are demanding €40 million (N71 billion) upfront and want strong bank guarantees for the remaining €35 million in installments.

Galatasaray insider Serkan Korkmaz explained that securing the type of bank guarantee Napoli wants isn’t something that happens quickly.

“The process for the guarantees requested regarding Osimhen will apparently take a bit longer,” he said. “Napoli requested a letter of guarantee that would be acceptable to a bank (I cannot use the name for legal reasons). Based on my research, this is not a document that can be issued in a few days,” Korkmaz added.

While that financial hurdle remains, Galatasaray’s leadership sees Napoli’s detailed demands as a sign that talks are heading in the right direction.

“Napoli’s demands today are interpreted by Dursun Özbek and the management as ‘the Osimhen transfer is progressing positively,'” Korkmaz noted.

Osimhen scored 37 goals and made eight assists last season, playing a key role in Galatasaray’s league and cup triumphs.
